Traceability Regulations for the Chilean Food Sanitary Legislation

CORFO Project carried out jointly with Chilealimentos, MINSAL, ACHIPIA (www.achipia.cl) and CERES BCA (www.ceresbca.cl) called "Development of a Management System for Traceability Based on Standards: A Model Based on the Food Chain".

This project delivered the guidelines and the technical, regulatory and institutional criteria to require food companies in Chile to have a traceability system that includes businesses and locations identification, labeling and identification for trade items and batches, traceability records and the requirement that these records allow traceability to customers and suppliers.

One of the project outputs was the modification to the Food Sanitary Regulation to introduce the recommended technical criteria.
