Traceability Management System at Nexans

Consultancy for Nexans electrical cables (www.nexans.cl) which consisted of carrying out a process evaluation and design of a traceability system for all electric cable manufacturing processes, from reception of copper logistic units and materials, up to the packing of commercial items and distribution of logistics units to customers. The system allowed to achieved the following objectives:

 

  • To be able to identify the lots and products suplliers of those ingredients that affect the functional quality of the the finished products and the process where they were applied.

  • To be able to identify the processes, machines and operators that produced the finished products

  • To be able to identify the quality controls

  • To be able to identify the clients to whom a batch of finished product was delivered

  • Support compliance with quality objectives

  • Facilitate the withdrawal of non-conforming commercial items from the distribution chain

  • Communicate relevant information to relevant stakeholders

  • Optimize the information contained in labels and process forms at each stage of the process to ensure traceability and facilitate the taking of inventories.
